And Staying Organized!
Something I'm working on and I think it's working. Recently I got DH to help me make a new work table and I gathered some things to help get things more organized and still keep them handy while I'm working. That's the hardest part, I want EVERYTHING to be handy while I'm working. I've only sat down to make things a couple times now but I am staying far more organized now than before....and I'm actually putting things back where they belong, how cool is that?! See my super cheap lightbox on the right, yep, that's where I take my pics, nothing fancy. Here's a link to my post with more pics of it
I think by far the best part of the table is that it's deep, so I have plenty of work room and more room beyond that, I'm loving all that room. I made a super easy shelf for that space, too, more easy access space where I can grab things from quickly. I got a bunch of plastic storage drawers from craigslist for cheap. Some of the drawers have other things inside to keep them organized like cutlery trays or just plastic boxes. I picked up an ice cube tray for my tools and I think I'm in love with it, it totally rocks.
A super quick and simple to make holder for pliers and stuff, these would normally be everywhere whether I was using them or not lol
I use a lot of different craft boxes and tackle boxes for my cutters now and for my beads, charms, and findings. BTW Hobby Lobby has their cookie cutters on sale right now everyone! These tiny cutters are normally $.50 but they are 30% off right now. So handy for making odd shapes =)
I'm not 100% there but I am far more organized than I was, and it makes everything so much easier.
That looks amazing!! I am so inspired to clean up my little disaster of a work space!!
ReplyDeleteLoved reading about your new organized space! I too am in the process of making a new space for me and organization needs to be key! Great ideas - I especially like the icecube tray! :)Michelle @ Wingsofflutter on Artfire
ReplyDeleteI am so bummed. I just threw out an ice cube tray like that. What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteI am sending you envy. Cause I have a bunch.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant, oh to have a whole big table like that and not to have to put loads of stuff away every time I want to do a different job!
ReplyDeleteThanks Valerie! It's like a relief to ahve things in a place, I hope you can make some progress, too!
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle! That ice cube is my new treasure, I love having that so much I can't even express it. I would ahve those darned tools everywhere and spend so much time looking for the right one.
Oh Mezza, that stinks! I can't count the times I've gone to look for something because I finally had a use for it and I'd already thrown it out, I hate that.
lol Judy, cool, I'm soaking it up ;P you're so silly =)
Pam =( I wish you a bigger space, I do, I do, I do!
I guess the beginning of the year sets everyone into the organize mode. I'm organizing too(www.normasclay.com). That ice cube tray is amazing! How cool to look at things in all ways possible.
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous! What a beautiful and organized space you have.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had that much space. WOW. It looks great.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks you guys! I just hope it helps spur some creativity =)
ReplyDeleteJanuary is a natural time for this type of stuff I think, clearing out the holidays stuff, cleaning up, getting ready for spring, the season of renewal, right? 'Spring Cleaning' =)
What a great work space!
ReplyDeleteLooks so organised! I see you have your pasta machine at an angle - what a great idea I bet it is far better for your back!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am amazed at how easy it is to put it all back away when I'm done working, too, it's awesome. Now if I can get the rest of the room like that lol
ReplyDeleteYou know what, it never occurred to me to have it at any other angle. Do most folks place theirs at a right angle to the table? I always thought that would be too awkward, especially since I don't have a motor and have to hand crank ;P It's very comfortable to use at that angle =)
